Installation Instructions

Fumble!

Don’t drop the ball this close to the end zone. Please read and follow the instructions below to ensure your complete satisfaction with your new Varsity XL Wall Graphic.

How to Apply

  1. Please be careful when selecting an area to display your Varsity XL Wall Graphic. The area needs to be large, the surface must be smooth, and it must be clean. Wall clings should not be applied to textured walls of any kind. Did we mention the area needs to be large?
  2. You should wipe down the area selected with a dry towel only. No soap or cleaning product should be used as they can leave a film or residue on the wall that will diminish the adhesive qualities of your Varsity XL Wall Graphic. If you must clean to remove dirt, use water only. You should allow your wall to dry for a day to ensure there is no trapped moisture in the wall. XL Time Saver: If you must wash with water, we recommend washing the wall before you ever leave the house or before you visit us on the web, but if you can’t wait any longer to make a play, running a fan on the selected area can cut your waiting time down to a couple hours.
  3. With your Varsity XL Wall Graphic in hand, you are now moments away from having the coolest wall update imaginable. Remove your Varsity XL Wall Graphic from its packaging and if there is enough space, unroll it in the room you’ve selected. We know the wait is going to be difficult, but you should lay it flat in the room for 30-40 minutes. For best results, your Varsity XL Wall Graphic must be at room temperature prior to installing. This helps eliminate the edges from wanting to curl from shrinking or expanding.
  4. The following plays should only be attempted by two people and only after the wall is completely dry.

Your Varsity XL Wall Graphic is die-cut to deliver a realistic, 3-D look. You should start peeling the art along the left edge, or back of the helmet, along the die-cut from the white, paper backing material. Slowly peel the helmet until you reach the face mask area and have the second set of hands start supporting the mask as you peel it off entirely. This should leave you with two hands supporting the helmet and two supporting the face mask to keep it from sticking to itself. XL Information: If the Varsity XL Wall Graphic does manage to stick to itself, don’t punt, just gently pull the two areas slowly apart and continue the application process. Even a folded line can disappear once properly applied.
  5. Application Time! The first set of hands, those supporting the helmet area, should start applying the left edge, lightly applying pressure as you rub through the middle of the helmet. Does it look out of position? If so, it is never too late to peel it off and start over, but this would be the best time to rotate your Varsity XL Wall Graphic. Work from the center of the helmet and rub in all directions, carefully working toward the face mask area. Once the entire surface area is in contact with the wall, work the bubbles from the center out by pushing them out to the sides with the enclosed squeegee. It is only after the entire wall graphic has achieved maximum adhesion that your helmet is safely attached for years of team cheers.
  6. Touchdown!!! You still have a couple logos to go.
  7. Save the white paper backing! In the event that you ever have to move your helmet, you can lie it on the original paper for transporting to its new home.

Will I need the White Backing Paper that my Varsity XL comes on or the Shipping Tube for any reason?

Yes. If you need to return your Varsity XL for any reason, you must return it on the liner it came on. Additionally if you must move or ship your Varsity XL to a new location having the original White Backing Paper and Shipping Tube will make it much easier.
